The following is a fun encounter I had with a couple of guests at the SCAA Expo while I was walking around the show floor. We talk about Home Roasting and Pan Roasting and how much fun they were having "consuming" over the weekend. Check it out!
Roaming around the SCAA expo I found some fun people to speak to from Coffee Bean International Roasters. I speak with Alison Rosenbloom, Brand Manager and Ray Penrod, Barista about their impressions of the show, the importance of the Barista competition and how Ray is "in it" for life.
When I sent out a Tweet at SCAA asking if anyone wanted to be interviewed for my video blog, I was excited to get a Tweet back from @FairTradeUSA. I spoke with Katie Barrow, the PR Manager for Trans Fair USA about the use of social media for Fair Trade, the importance of Fair Trade and some of her most meaningful experiences working in the industry.
We all hopped on a....school bus....yes....a school bus. I felt like I was well, in high school again, crammed in with 60 other adults bouncing down the highway to the Intelligentsia Roasting Facility. I had the pleasure of sitting next to Robert Goble from Elysian Coffee who enlightened me on his views of the coffee world. I left the chat feeling even more excited by the world of coffee but after an hour and a half of a bumpy journey I was ready to get off the bus!

The first day of the SCAA show was mind-blowing for me! I met so many interesting people and learned things I didn't even know there were things to learn. My journey into the coffee world has only begun but I am already fascinated, moved and HOOKED! There are so many stories to be told. I have so much video to cut over the next few days including interviews with Coffee Kids, Growers First, FairTrade USA, Slayer and even Rohan Marley of Marley Coffee.

Welcome to Coffee Discoveries - the official Tambaroo Coffee blog. As the author of this blog, I want to admit that I am not a tride and true coffee expert. I am a blogger and passionate about social media, stories and people. When I started working with Tambaroo, I admit I was a little nervous about the exclusiveness of the coffee community and how technical it can be. I am now here at the Specialty Coffee Association of America trade show in Anaheim and have decided that the way I would like to approach the coffee world and this blog, is as a novice, because I am. I am not alone in my curiosity for coffee, so my goal is to present these stories in a way that would be interesting to anyone that might come across them.
